Employee and Employer workplace giving

Corporate Partnerships provide companies the opportunity to contribute directly to one of our many community assistance programs through gifts in kind, the donation of professional services or workplace giving.

Workplace Giving may involve:

• Employee Payroll deductions – in pre-tax dollars
• Employee dollar-for-dollar matching by the employer
• One-off company donations to specific ANGLICARE projects

ANGLICARE – Workplace Giving Corporate Charity Partner overview

What is it all about?*
Workplace Giving is a simple and effective way for employees to regularly donate to charities or organisations who are entitled to receive tax deductible donations.  To participate in the Workplace Giving program the nominated charity must have deductible gift recipient (DGR) status.  You can check ANGLICARE’s DGR status via the Australian Business Register at www.abr.gov.au or by phoning 1300 130 248 and quoting the ANGLICARE ABN 88 851 368 006.
ANGLICARE has been a corporate Workplace Giving partner since 2002, enabling employees to make direct pre-tax donations. .

How Workplace Giving works *
Employers who wish to offer workplace giving, invite their employees to enter into a workplace giving program.  Employers generally seek input from employees about which charity or charities they would like to support.  The company then approaches the charity or charities to make appropriate arrangements.
Employees indicate the specific amount(s) they wish to donate per pay period.  Generally, the donation amount will be a fixed amount which will be deducted each pay day.  This is part of the employer standard payroll arrangement.  The donation is paid directly by the employer to the charity as a lump sum from the organisation.

The workplace giving arrangement does not affect an employee’s gross income or other calculations such as superannuation guarantee payments or fringe benefits tax (FBT).  For more taxation related information please see the Australian Taxation Office website and their instruction on How to set up a workplace giving program.
Workplace giving is optional.  Both the employee and the employer must agree to participate.
